SINGAPORE – March 2024 – Aeton Lim have recently concluded a year-long pro-bono consulting engagement with The Art Faculty (TAF), a social enterprise affiliated with Autism Resource Centre (Singapore) / Pathlight School.
TAF provides a platform for artists with autism and related challenges to showcase their talents and earn income through the sale of artwork and products. These products, such as the Monstera Green Shopping Bag and the iconic dino pouch featured by Seetoh Sheng Jie and carried by Ho Ching, are gaining recognition throughout Singapore.
Aeton is involved in an accelerator program with TAF, working alongside a team of experienced mentors to develop a growth plan focused on go-to-market strategies and international expansion for the non-profit.
"I was incredibly inspired by TAF's leadership team and their dedication to creating a more inclusive society," said Aeton Lim. "This experience provided invaluable insights into the challenges and opportunities faced by social enterprises."
Aeton Lim shared key lessons learned from his pro-bono consulting journey:
- Think in isolation, work in collaboration: The importance of diverse perspectives and collaborative decision-making.
- Being a good sounding board as a coach: The value of active listening and facilitating informed choices.
- The same hammer that shatters glass also forges steel: The transformative power of resilience and strategic thinking.
"Non-profits like TAF do extraordinary work, but often lack the business skills needed to scale their impact," said Lim. "Business professionals have a responsibility to share their expertise and support these organizations."
He expressed his gratitude to the TAF leadership team, his fellow mentors, and talenTtrust for facilitating this impactful engagement.
